Rising star: Mohammed's ambitious goals in engineering

My name is Mohammed and I am a BEng Computer Science and Electronic Engineering student. Having studied my foundation at King's College London, I have developed myself academically and participated in opportunities that have greatly increased my passion for engineering. A few months ago I was invited to and attended the Space Entrepreneurship Program held by UKSEDS, which I am a member of, at the University of Edinburgh, which gave me an insight into the future entrepreneurial opportunities in space, for which the infrastructure is still in its early stages. I also recently volunteered at the annual Big Bang Fair at the NEC in Birmingham where I helped engage younger students in STEM. Young student's first business ventures

King's College London student Mohammed Mustafa Ali has built on his initial business experience with the launch of two companies, Infinity Emporium and Skilfuls.org. According to Mohammed, 'the idea here is to create two simple business experiments aimed at providing what practically all successful companies offer: products or services.'  Once typing in the long URL Infinity Emporium (Mohammed explains that he currently does not have the means for a custom domain), visitors are greeted with a specifically designed custom logo with a simple user interface listing all 7 product categories, followed by a list of automatically curated new products. 'I took time to design the site to make it simple to use and accessible to as many people as possible, focusing on reducing text and making all products easy to reach depending on what the customer may want,' he explains. Student Spotlight: Mohammed Mustafa Ali

  Today's spotlight article features Mohammed Mustafa Ali, a 19-year-old student at King's College London. Hailing from Birmingham, Mohammed attended one of the city's top grammar schools, King Edward VI Five Ways, and is interested in eventually becoming an inventor or entrepreneur. 'I believe the next big industries will be space, artificial intelligence, genetics, and biotechnology,' he states. He has already started developing his interest in these fields, having become the next secretary of KCL Space and represented King's at the 2023 National Student Space Conference held at the University of Manchester in March. 'The technical skills I have developed throughout my studies will be immensely helpful in any creative pursuit, and I think that the best ideas often come unexpectedly,' he remarks.
